Arboretus Covers Vision Éternel
Alexander Fawcett’s solo ambient project, Arboretus has recorded and released a cover of Vision Éternel’s fan-favourite song, “Love Within Narcosis“. Based in Petersfield, England, Alexander Fawcett has made a name for himself in UK’s metal and ambient communities by playing in Oceanus, Esuna, Hagakure, Karmyne, Sleepless Dreams and Good Weather For An Airstrike. His ambient project, Arboretus, was formed a couple of years ago and released its debut 3-song EP, entitled “Soundscape De Nostalgia“, digitally in late October of 2011. In Vision Éternel’s opinion, it was a masterpiece.
Alexander Fawcett and Alexandre Julien have known each other for several years, through Oceanus’ near-signing with Abridged Pause Recordings in the late 2000’s. Earlier this year, in January of 2012, Alexandre Julien asked Alexander Fawcett to contribute to one of Vision Éternel’s songs on “The Last Great Torch Song” EP. Through this came one of the best Vision Éternel song, “Sometimes In Anticipating Moments“, on which Alexander Fawcett provided additional guitars and bass.
Arboretus has been recording a series of cover songs lately but it was still quite a surprise when “Love Within Narcosis” was announced. We are not sure if this is the first Vision Éternel cover, but it would certainly be interesting to hear more people interpret the songs. The faithful adaption can be listen to on Arboretus’ Soundcloud page. It is also made available for streaming right here. You can also support the band on Facebook.
